Diagnostic features
Tufted, glabrous, glaucous perennial with ± erect flowering stems to 60cm.
Flowers more than 30mm across, 1-5 in lax cymes, fragrant, usually pink.
Calyx more than 20mm.

Chromosome number: (2n=30).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized; grown in gardens and occasionally naturalized on old walls.

Distribution
South & Central Britain, ephemeral outcast elsewhere; South Europe.
