Diagnostic features
Rhizome eventually to 15m but often less than 1m.
Leaves up to 200 x 60cm.

Habitat and distribution
Introduced-naturalized; grown in gardens in Southwest, naturalized in woods and shady places in South Kerry, Scilly and East & West Cornwall; South & East Australia.
