Scientific name: Clematis tangutica (Maxim.) Korsh.

Diagnostic features
Deciduous climber to 4m.
Leaves pinnate with primary divisions mostly ternate.
Leaflets cuneate to cordate at base.
Flowers usually 1 in each leaf-axil.
Sepals 3-5cm, yellow.
Style becoming long and feathery in fruit.

Chromosome number: (2n=16).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized.

Distribution
Several localities and habitats in Britain for short periods, but since 1990 perhaps only in Man; China.
