Diagnostic features
Vigorous deciduous climber to 6m.
Leaves ternate.
Leaflets cuneate to rounded at base.
Flowers in groups of 1-6.
Sepals 1.5-2.5cm, white to pink or bluish.
Style becoming long and feathery in fruit.

Chromosome number: 2n=16.

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized; much grown in gardens and rarely escaping or persisting over hedges and walls.

Distribution
Very scattered in Britain North to Dunbarton, Man; Afganistan to Taiwan.
