Scientific name: Thalictrum alpinum L.

Diagnostic features
Rhizomatous.
Stems rarely more than 15cm, erect, very thin, simple.
Leaves 2-pinnate to -ternate.
Inflorescence simple.
Flowers well spaced, pale yellow, with dangling stamens with very thin filaments.

Chromosome number: 2n=14.

Habitat
Native; grassy and rocky places on mountains.

Distribution
West & Central Scotland, very local in North Wales, North Ireland and extreme North England; formerly Midwest Yorks.
