Diagnostic features
Erect to procumbent, glabrous, ± glaucous annual to 12cm.
Leaves linear.
Petals shorter than sepals.

Chromosome number: 2n=36.

Habitat
Native; barish places on sandy or gravelly ground.

Distribution
Local in England and Wales North to Cheviot and Caerns, formerly more frequent, Channel Islands.
