Greater Sea-spurrey

Diagnostic features
Perennial with non-woody base.
Stems to 40cm, decumbent to ascending, glabrous or glandular-pubescent only in inflorescence.
Sepals (3.5)4-6mm, usually slightly shorter than petals.
Capsule (4)7-9mm.
Seeds 0.7-1mm (excluding wing), all or many(very rarely absent) winged.

Chromosome number: 2n=18.

Habitat
Native; sandy and muddy maritime places.

Distribution
Common round coasts of Britain and Ireland, very rarely inland.
