Diagnostic features
Annual or biennial.
Stems to 25cm, decumbent, glandular-pubescent in inflorescence and usually some way below.
Sepals 3-4(5)mm, usually longer than petals.
Capsule 3.5-5mm.
Seeds not winged.

Chromosome number: 2n=36.

Habitat
Native; calcifuge of sandy or gravelly ground.

Distribution
Throughout most of British Isles and often common.
