Erect branched perennial to 1m, covered with dense white woolly hairs.
Flowers on long individual stalks.
Petal-limb purple, entire to emarginate.

Chromosome number: (2n=24).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized.

Distribution
Commonly grown in gardens, frequently escaping and sometimes naturalized in waste places; England and Wales, rare casual elsewhere; Southeast Europe.
