Diagnostic features
Erect simple perennial to 20cm, glabrous or very sparsely pubescent.
Stems not sticky.
Flowers ± densely clustered in compact head.
Petal-limb pale purple, 2-lobed to c.1/2 way.

Chromosome number: 2n=24.

Habitat
Native; mountain serpentine or heavy-metalliferous rocks.

Distribution
Extremely rare in Cumberland and Angus.
