Diagnostic features
Densely pubescent stoloniferous perennial with ascending to erect flowering stems to 40cm.
Flowers 12-20mm across.
Red glands on sepals stalked.

Chromosome number: 2n=16, 32.

Habitat
Native; bogs, pondsides and streamsides on acid soil.

Distribution
Locally frequent in suitable places throughout British Isles in West and South, but rare or absent in Central & East.
