Irish St John's-wort
Scientific name: Hypericum canadense L.
Diagnostic features Glabrous annual or perennial with basal buds. Stems to 20cm, erect, very slender, square in section. Flowers less than 1cm across. Petals bright yellow.
Chromosome number: 2n=16.
Habitat Probably introduced-naturalized.
Distribution Very rare in 2 areas in West and Southwest Ireland; North America.
