Scientific name: Malva alcea L.

Diagnostic features
Perennial with erect or spreading stems to 1.2m.
Similar to Malva moschata but with stellate, not simple, hairs on all vegetative parts incl. calyx and epicalyx.
Epicalyx-segments less than 3x as long as wide.
Nutlets glabrous or pubescent.

Chromosome number: (2n=84).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized; grassy and waste places.

Distribution
Southeast England and Glam; Europe.
