Scientific name: Malva pusilla Sm.
Diagnostic features Similar to Malva parviflora but calyx with marginal hairs c.1mm. Some pedicels more than 1cm at fruiting. Nutlets strongly reticulate, glabrous or pubescent, the angle between dorsal and lateral surface sharp and jagged but not winged.
Chromosome number: (2n=42).
Habitat Introduced-naturalized; waste places, casual from several sources, especially wool, sometimes persistent.
Distribution Very scattered over Britain, rare in Ireland; Europe.
