Diagnostic features
Differs mainly in larger racemes (3-7cm x 5-9mm) and petals (2.5-3mm).

Chromosome number: (2n=24).

Habitat
Introduced-survivor; same habitats as Tamarix gallica, but much rarer and never self-sown.

Distribution
South coast of England; Mediterranean.
