Diagnostic features
Annual.
Stems rather little branched, to 1(1.5)m, erect.
Lower leaves deeply and regularly lobed.
Fruits 1-3(4.5)cm, erect or erecto-patent.

Chromosome number: (2n=14).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized; waste places and tips.

Distribution
Fairly frequent casual in South Britain and naturalized in London area, 1 plant in Ireland in 1988; Europe.
