Diagnostic features
Annual.
Stems to 60cm, erect.
Leaves variously divided, often deeply so, rarely unlobed.
Fruits 2-5cm, patent to erecto-patent.

Chromosome number: (2n=14).

Habitat
Introduced-casual.

Distribution
A fairly regular wool-alien in England; West Mediterranean.

Note
Petals often fade to white in dried material.
