Hoary Mustard

Scientific name: Hirschfeldia incana (L.) Lagr.-Foss.

Diagnostic features
Stems erect, to 1.3m, whitish pubescent below with short stiff hairs.
Fruit 6-17mm, appressed to stem, with beak 3-6.5mm, swollen round seeds and abruptly narrowed distally.

Chromosome number: 2n=14.

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized; waste places and waysides.

Distribution
British Isles, especially South, often casual but increasingly naturalized, also frequent wool-alien; South Europe.
