Scientific name: Vaccinium macrocarpon Aiton
Diagnostic features Differs from Vaccinium oxycoccos in being more robust. Leaves 6-18 x 2-5mm, narrowly oblong. Bracteoles above middle of pedicel, mostly more than 1mm wide. Flowers in groups of 1-5(10). Fruit 9-14(20)mm across, globose.
Chromosome number: (2n=24).
Habitat Introduced-naturalized; grown for its fruit and naturalized from bird-sown seed, mostly in peaty places.
Distribution Scattered in Britain from South England to West Scotland; East North America.
