Scientific name: Sedum spurium M. Bieb.
Diagnostic features Glabrous perennial. Stems decumbent or procumbent, rooting along length, to 20cm. Leaves usually opposite, 1.5-3cm, dorsiventral, crenate-serrate, strongly papillose at margin, scarcely petiolate. Flowers in corymbose panicle, mostly pedicellate. Petals 5, 8-12mm, pink to reddish-purple, rarely white.
Chromosome number: (2n=28).
Habitat Introduced-naturalized; commonly grown in gardens and very persistent as escape, relic or throwout.
Distribution Very scattered throughout British Isles except North Scotland; Caucasus.
