Diagnostic features
Differs from Spiraea salicifolia in leaves mostly widest above mid-way.
Panicles broadly conical, with long branches near base.
Petals usually white, sometimes pale pink.
Stamens c. as long as petals.

Chromosome number: (2n=36).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized; naturalized from gardens in hedges, etc..

Distribution
Frequent in Scotland, Man, North Ireland and probably North England; East North America.
