Differs from Spiraea douglasii douglasii in leaves ovate, grey- to buff-tomentose on lowerside, serrate for distal 2/3 or more of margin.
Follicles pubescent.

Chromosome number: (2n=36).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized.

Distribution
Grown in gardens, rather rarely naturalized in England; East North America.
