Diagnostic features
Stems arching, to 2m.
Leaves 2-5cm, elliptic-oblong, serrate in apical 1/2, glabrous or nearly so.
Inflorescence an elongated panicle of lateral corymbs.
Petals white.

Chromosome number: (2n=10, 18, 20, 36).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized.

Distribution
Garden plant naturalized by road and in open woodland in Westmorland since 1989; Russia and East Europe.
