Scientific name: Rubus tricolor Focke
Diagnostic features Stems to several m, trailing, rooting at tips, with dense brownish bristles. Leaves simple, ovate, pinnately 3-5-lobed. Flowers in racemes, 20-25mm across, white. Fruit red, but plant often not flowering.
Chromosome number: (2n=28).
Habitat Introduced-naturalized; grown as ground-cover but spreading and naturalized in hedges and shrubberies.
Distribution Very scattered in England; China.
