Diagnostic features
Perennial with erect stems to 70cm arising from leaf-rosette.
Leaves palmate with 5-7 leaflets.
Flowers in terminal cymes.
Petals yellow, 6-12mm, longer than sepals.
Achenes glabrous.

Chromosome number: (2n=28, 42).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized; grown in gardensand naturalized in waste ground, roadside banks and grassy places.

Distribution
Scattered over Central & South England and Channel Islands, rare casual elsewhere; South Europe.
