Hybrid Cinquefoil

Scientific name: Potentilla x mixta Nolte ex Rchb.

Diagnostic features
Differs from Potentilla reptans in being less robust with some leaves with 3 or 4 leaflets and some flowers with 4 petals and sepals.
From Potentilla anglica in having leaves all with more or less same length petioles, and from both by its high sterility.
Achenes glabrous.

Chromosome number: 2n=42, 56.

Habitat
Native.

Distribution
Frequent throughout most of BritishIsles (commoner than Potentilla anglica), often in absence of parents. This taxon is derived from both Potentilla erecta x Potentilla reptans and Potentilla anglica x Potentilla reptans.
