Diagnostic features
Stems to 50cm, procumbent, rooting.
Leaves 6-25mm, dark glossy green on upperside, white-tomentose on lowerside.
Petals 7-17mm.
Styles in fruit 2-3cm.

Chromosome number: 2n=18.

Habitat
Native; base-rich rock-crevices and -ledges on mountains.

Distribution
Very local in Northwest Wales, North Ireland and North England, local in Midwest Ireland and North & West Scotland.
