Diagnostic features
Differs from Acaena novae-zelandiae in leaflets (7)9(-11), the apical pair 10-30mm, 1.7-2x as long as wide, each with (11)17-23 teeth.
Hypanthium with 2 spines.

Chromosome number: (2n=42).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized; on barish ground.

Distribution
Very few places from South England to North Scotland, Southeast Ireland; South America.
