Diagnostic features
Deciduous shrub or tree to 5m with erect to arching branches.
Leaves 3.5-9cm, flat, subglabrous on lowerside.
Inflorescences 5-15-flowered.
Anthers pink to mauve.
Fruits black, 6-8mm, subglobose, with 2 stones showing at apex.

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized.

Distribution
Southeast England; Himalayas.
