Tree Cotoneaster
Scientific name: Cotoneaster frigidus Wall. ex Lindl.
Diagnostic features Deciduous to semi-evergreen, erect shrub or strong tree to 8(18)m. Leaves 6-15cm, flat, pubescent on lowerside. Inflorescences usually more than 20-flowered. Anthers purple. Fruits usually bright red, sometimes orange, yellow or crimson, 4-6mm, depressed-globose, with 2 stones.
Habitat Introduced-naturalized.
Distribution Frequent in British Isles; Himalayas.
