Diagnostic features Tree to 7m. Spines 3-5cm, medium. Leaves broadly ovate, doubly serrate and shallowly lobed. Fruits pear-shaped to ellipsoid, 15-20mm.
Chromosome number: (2n=68).
Habitat Introduced-naturalized; planted and naturalized as for Crataegus submollis.
Distribution Southeast England and Channel Islands; East North America.
