Erect annual to 60(100)cm.
Flowers up to 8, often many fewer, white to purple, inconspicuous.

Chromosome number: (2n=40).

Habitat
Introduced-casual; where seed is spilled on tips, waste land and near docks and factories.

Distribution
Very scattered in South Britain; origin uncertain.
