Leaflets 5-15 pairs; tendrils branched.
Flowers 10-30(40), 8-12(13)mm, bluish-violet.
Limb of standard c. as long as claw.
Fruits 10-25mm, 2-6(8)-seeded.
Seeds with hilum 1/4-1/3 total circumference.

Chromosome number: 2n=28.

Habitat
Native; grassy and bushy places and hedgerows.

Distribution
Common throughout British Isles.
