Diagnostic features
Scrambling annual to 80cm.
Leaflets 4-10 pairs.
Tendrils branched.
Flowers (1)2-7(9), (2)3-5mm, whitish tinged purple.
Fruits 6-11mm, almost all 2-seeded.

Chromosome number: 2n=14.

Habitat
Native; rough ground and grassy places.

Distribution
Throughout lowland British Isles but rare in North Scotland.
