Diagnostic features
Erect perennial to 80cm.
Stems not winged.
Leaflets 3-6(10) pairs, lanceolate to elliptic.
Tendrils absnet.
Flowers 2-10, 10-15mm, purple becoming bluish.

Chromosome number: (2n=14).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized; garden escape naturalized in grassy, rocky and scrubby places.

Distribution
Rare and very scattered in Scotland and England; Europe.
