Diagnostic features
Pubescent annual, often with dark blotches on leaves, with procumbent stems to 50cm.
Cyathia 1-few in leaf-axils and stem-forks.
Capsules smooth, pubescent.
Seeds with shallow transverse furrows.

Chromosome number: (2n=28).

Habitat
Introduced-survivor; scarcely naturalized weed of nurseries and in a quarry.

Distribution
Very scattered in England, South Wales, Jersey; North America, naturalized in Europe.
