Diagnostic features
Glabrous or pubescent erect annual to 80cm.
Leaves obovate to elliptic, sessile, cordate at extreme base, serrulate.
Capsules with small hemispherical papillae, glabrous.
Seeds smooth.

Chromosome number: 2n=30.

Habitat
Native; cultivated and rough ground.

Distribution
Formerly locally frequent in South & East Britain, now very local in South England North to Cambs and Worcs.
