Diagnostic features
Stems erect, to 2m, usually green.
Leaflets narrowly ovate, acute to acuminate, coarsely but sharply serrate.
Peduncles glabrous.
Rays minutely pubescent.
Petals greenish-white.
Fruits 5-6mm.

Chromosome number: (2n=22).

Habitat
Introduced-naturalized; on river-banks and waste places, now cultivated less than formerly.

Distribution
Scattered in Britain, ± frequent in London area; North & East Europe.
