Scientific name: Teucrium scordium L.

Diagnostic features
Herbaceous perennial.
Stems ascending to decumbent, to 50cm.
Leaves crenate-serrate, broadly crenate to rounded at base, ± sessile.
Corolla pinkish-mauve.

Chromosome number: 2n=32.

Habitat
Native; fens, dune-slacks and riverbanks on calcareous soils.

Distribution
Very local, 1 site each in North Devon and Cambs, locallyfrequent in West-central Ireland, formerly scattered in England North to Northwest Yorks and in Guernsey, decreasing.
