Erect annual or biennial to 30cm.
Leaves dissected nearly to midrib, petiolate.
Corolla pinkish-purple.

Chromosome number: 2n=32.

Habitat
Native; bare chalk and chalky fallow fields on downs.

Distribution
C. 5 places in North Hants, West Kent, Surrey and East Gloucs, formerly elsewhere in South England, decreasing.
