Diagnostic features
Stems erect to decumbent, usually branched low down, to 20cm.
Leaves divided nearly to midrib in often linear segments.
Corolla yellow.

Chromosome number: 2n=28.

Habitat
Native; bare chalk and chalky arable fields on downs.

Distribution
Local in South & Southeast England North to West Suffolk, formerly Northants, decreasing.
