Scientific name: Rosmarinus officinalis L.
Diagnostic features Usually erect shrub to 2m, with characteristic scent. Leaves 1.5-4cm, tomentose on (mostly hidden) lowerside. Corolla 10-15mm.
Chromosome number: (2n=24).
Habitat Introduced-naturalized; much grown in gardens, self-sown on walls and rough ground.
Distribution Sporadic in South England, Caerns, Cheshire and Channel Islands, not fully frost-hardy; Mediterranean.
