Near-Threatened A bird related to Chloropsis cyanopogon (elsewhere on this site), and with a largely similar distribution and under similar threats. Showed marked declines, and is now only locally common, but adapts to well-developed secondary forest and thus in no immediate danger of extinction. Two races described, ssp. thapsina on the Anambas Is. (Indonesia, halfway W Malaysia and Kalimantan), and nominate viridissima in the Malay Peninula, Sumatra, and Borneo.
